In addition to the Center for Citizen Science (CfCS), there are numerous research institutions in Austria that deal with Citizen Science. Through special contact points or the integration of citizen science in strategy papers they contribute to the institutional anchoring of citizen science.

Since 2017, institutions from science, research, education and practice have formed the Citizen Science Network Austria, which is coordinated by the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences. The associated web platform Österreich forscht bundles about 50 Austrian CS projects and also has a blog. In addition, the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences has set up a page listing the CS projects carried out at the university.

There are currently CS contact points with corresponding websites at the universities of Salzburg, Vienna, Innsbruck and at the Natural History Museum Vienna as well as the Museum inatura in Dornbirn.

In addition, since 2017 numerous universities, universities of applied sciences, colleges of education and non-university research institutions have had so-called CS contact persons. These were initiated by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and have been working together with the CfCS ever since.
