From March 15 to May 15, 2024, scientific and non-scientific stakeholders can apply to participate in the "Ideas Lab" on cancer research.

With the "Cancer Mission Labs" call, the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft is addressing various stakeholders with the aim of jointly developing solutions to better understand cancer, detect it earlier, treat it more specifically and improve the quality of life of those affected. The funding totaling 1.5 million euros will be awarded in a three-stage process.

In the first phase, interested parties, e.g. representatives from research institutions and companies, but also from associations and patient organizations, can apply to take part in the "Ideas Lab". No previous experience with cancer or cancer research is required.

In the course of the "Ideas Lab" in the summer, the selected people will then work on innovative project ideas in an interdisciplinary manner. From all project ideas, 2-4 will be recommended for funding by a jury. In fall 2024, the recommended projects will develop their idea outline into a full application.
